Fickle

A maze of selfishness,

Strong walls all around,

One wants to break through,

But are the shackles too strong?

Fickle is what man is,

Fickle is thy nature,

Fickle is thy existence,

Brittle humanity is thy flavor?

Caught in a web of deceit,

Strong walls all around,

One wants to break through,

But are the shackles too strong?

With faith hanging in the balance,

Man nearing the end,

Optimistically trying to be selfless,

Will he finally make the bend?

An illusion, is what persists

Strong walls all around,

One wants to break through,

But are the shackles too strong?

Or is it within us?

Somewhere deep inside,

Smearing through thy spirit,

Leaving behind craters too wide?

The evil imprinted on thy soul,

Strong walls all around,

One wants to break through,

But are the shackles too strong?

Immersed in a pool of want,

The thirst never seems to be quenched,

Ego comes to the forefront,

Intolerable it becomes, to be wedged?

A raindrop of peace, is all I ask for,

Strong walls all around,

One wants to breakthrough,

But are the shackles too strong?

Your heart beats,

Beats without asking for a beat in return,

Universe spins its magic wand to sustain your existence,

All you say is, it`s not HIS, but MY turn!

Pretty demanding it is, to say YOU, before I,

Strong walls all around,

One wants to break through,

But are they shackles too strong?

With the wait seemingly exhaustive,

A moment transpiring into an eternity,

Shall I keep the flame burning?

Or is it too late for that spark of serenity?

Intangible is thy grace,

Strong walls all around,

One wants to breakthrough,

But are the shackles too strong?

The road quite out of sight,

YOUR glare blinding my eye,

Is it the silence before the storm of tranquility?

Or is it just a hopeless raise of hue and cry?

Unfathomable is thy existence,

Strong walls all around,

One wants to breakthrough,

But are the shackles too strong?
